Display Systems and Touch Screen Technology

Display software has been an important part of our business since 1998 when we produced an auction bid system for Christies London. This was the start of our Plasma display solutions, that evolved into Information Display System (IDS) and now include special packages for Courts including Court Arrival Touch Screen Kiosks

Touch Screen Technology

Specialist Computing have recently developed Court Arrival Touch Screen Kiosks where both Solicitors and Court attendees can "check in" and register their arrival and readiness for Court.

If you have different requirements for Touch Screen Kiosks, Specialist Computing can create bespoke Touch Screen systems to suit your needs. Please contact us for further details.

Multi-Screen Capability

The latest version of our display software allows a single PC to drive up to eight independant screens. This can greatly reduce the hardware surface area and power consumption.

IDS - Roles and Key Features

IDS is in its 3rd version as a network solution for multiple display screens, with one or more administration workstations.

The system began as a Rich Text display application, and has grown to include support for web pages and stored html pages. The system displays slides as collections of pages, that can also include photographs as JPEG format files.

IDS includes facilities to update page content dynamically from any MS Access database, through the use of templates. This can be implemented with a schedule system to produce pages in a timely manner. This tool has been used to great effect in the courts where listing information can be produced dynamically to direct users to the appropriate court room. We have also produced bespoke solutions to suite customized information formats.

In Brief...

  • Flexible display page formats, including html, rtf and jpg

  • Manage several screens from a single administration workstation

  • Automate display content creation with our powerful data to rtf tools
