STOWED is the perfect tool for sending documents or newsletters to groups of people. When used as a replacement for postal mailing, STOWED can save money and time by eliminating the need for printing and posting with no folding of paper or printing of envelopes.
STOWED has an email notification system which can be used to inform users of new file uploads quickly and easily. Because all files are tagged, STOWED will only inform people who need to see the file.
File tagging
Each file in STOWED is given one or more tags which enables powerful organisation and simplified filtering.
Multiple tags can then be combined together when locating files on the system. For example, you may wish to find all files that are tagged as "newsletters" that are also from the year "2011".
Built-in security
Tagging files also provides an automatic security protocol.
Tags can be marked as public, where any user of the system has access, or they can be restricted to specified users.
Files marked with a restricted tag will only be visible to users who are granted permission, even where public tags are also used. This feeds into the email notification system to ensure that only the appropriate people are informed about the new file.
Detailed auditing and statistics
STOWED automatically collects detailed statistics about user activity and audits every action.
System administrators can view a detailed log of user actions plus statistics which are broken down by month and year, including information about user logins, file uploads, downloads and deletions.
Hosting and Licensing
STOWED is available as a hosted solution. All this requires is a standard web browser and the system is available from anywhere with an Internet connection.
As part of the hosted service, we also provide a custom domain name and SSL certificate.
Alternatively, licensing options are available if you wish to deploy the system on your own web server or intranet.
