Warrant Analysis and Tracking System (WATS)
Warrant Analysis and Tracking (WATS) supports the management of pre-court and enforcement warrants issued by the Courts.
Warrants issued by Fujitsu's Court Computer System are extracted on a daily basis and passed to the warrant tracking system, together with updates on executed or cancelled warrants. The system is a 'Defendant' based system that allows warning signals to be recorded against the defendant's details together with notes relating to enquiries made.
Warrants may then be shown as allocated to appropriate bodies, e.g. distress warrants to bailiffs, warrants without bail to the police, and others to the courts own enforcement officers.
Warrants of different types may be issued to one organisation or to several by defined districts matched against the defendant's home address.
Standard letters may be prepared and sent according to a variety of parameters. Often a timely warning prior to the visit of a bailiff or enforcement officer is sufficient to encourage the defaulter to pay the outstanding amount.
Comprehensive search and reporting facilities are provided to assist with the enforcement of warrants. Lists of outstanding warrants or those allocated for action may be printed, thus reducing the time taken in the preparation of lists supporting the administration of warrants
The system has been developed using Microsoft Access and can be implemented on the Libra Office Automation network. The main databases are installed on the local large file store with several users having concurrent access.
Optional facilities exist to generate Web-based index pages or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Information held in WATS may be passed to other products for the Windows operating system to be included in reports or statistical presentations.
The system has been designed to ensure that there is a common 'look and feel' for users of other packages for the Windows operating system and the system now integrates with Management Information for Magistrates' Courts.
A secure web based version of Warrant Tracking is also now available. For more information visit the WATSMobile page.
