Hospital Systems for Accident and Emergency, and Outpatients

These systems are specialist packages which support the manipulation and display of information on large public 21 or 42 inch display screens.

Text and graphics may be combined in a number of windows to provide an effective method of bringing important information to the attention of the public.

Systems implemented in Accident and Emergency units can provide updated information on waiting times, with an explanation of the procedures. The latest display screens allow a television programme or video to be played in conjunction with the informative messages.

The positioning of the screen can distract the attention of waiting patients from the Accident and Emergency reception staff and also produce a calming influence within the unit.

Another implementation produces a list of clinics and consultants, together with useful updates, including waiting times or relevant messages, whilst another similar display provides information for Accident and Emergency Departments.

The colour coding of the displays allows a hospital to match the list of clinics with any particular decorative schemes within the hospital.

The cycle times of the displays are under the control of the user, and text and graphical messages may be included in the rolling display.

Weekly clinic allocations may be prepared and left to automatically change from morning or afternoon and day by day. Late changes can be easily entered into the system.

Implementation may range from a single display board controlled from one computer through to a whole series of displays controlled from one or more locations.

The sample screens would be displayed for a chosen number of seconds before refreshing. The software will automatically page the clinic and consultant details where the information covers more that one page.
